Got up early. Was still nice enough for a ride. would be hot today, but not early. Toughest part of Pemberton is the first part, so no problem.

I had always heard about a hugh weird looking rock that resembles a man's thing. Think I found it. There is a side trail that takes you right to it, but too hot too tired to make the extra effort.

The Years Best Posts

Since I've not been riding much myself, thought I would share some of what I've found. Lists of the best of the best post other bloggers have posted.

I am not going to make a list of every category. The best video's around here combined with youthful folksy  language always come from U2meToo, the best trail information always comes from MTBikeAZ some of the best writing comes from OneSpeedGo, while the best still photos come from sprockets.

However, in honor of the late Anthony Sloan, I am going to focus on his style of blog. Posts that look like they belong in a National Geographic or Arizona Highways magazine. Great Photography, combined with informative, entertaining story telling. I'll do the nominating, I'll let you all vote for your favorite posts. Man o man, would I love to go for a ride right now. Only 82 degrees on a Friday in August.

McDowell Mountain park? The White Tanks? Just good old Desert Classic or Trail 100.  Red Mountain!

Anyways, get out while you are able.

If my knee heals, maybe I can do this Cabin loop with some friends.

I REALLY need to add it to my list of Payson area trails.

North Rim Open May 15th

Its been a goal of mine to ride all these trails one summer. I nice break from the summer desert heat. A bikepacking trip, so to speak. Maybe not this year, but someday? I don't see that anyone has logged Pt. Sublime, Crazy Jug or Tiyo points. . . . Rainbow rim is well traveled. Beautiful too.

north rim

In less than one month, the north rim is open for business once again. If you want to see the most beautiful canyon in the world, this aint it. Go to Bryce. However, she can thrill you like no other. Driving to the edge, looking in for a couple of hours and returning home is one experience. Looking down with the anticipation of going down and crossing is something entirely different. Challenge yourself and you will be rewarded.

I wont make it to Pt. Sublime this season. Other priorities and that's okay. One day, I hope this new priority accompanies me to the point.

Yeti 575

Hard to believe that it's been a year since I test rode that sweet 575 at McDowell mountain park and met the great Anthony Sloan. He left us way too soon. Would have been great meeting up with him again.
